I design for emotion. I believe design should evoke a visceral response from the heart & mind. It’s more than just a visual reference, it’s a language that speaks to our most human instincts.

Interior & exterior design by Jonathan Eppers. Captured by Juan Diego

Casa Desierto is one of those once in a life-time projects because of the location and landscape. I completely re-imagined the interior & exterior spaces. Converting what was a dated & tired Santa Fe style home with little character or personality into a timeless 1920’s inspired California Spanish Hacienda. I introduced arched-ways to create depth of space, designed a lighting system that is moody and inviting, and used natural materials like stone, ceramic and wood for warmth, texture and color.

From the bedroom hallway, your eye follows out to the rectangular pool.
Dining table with sconce hanging overhead.
I added a sconce to the entry of every bedroom. Not only does it add warm light to the hallway, but it invites you to step inside.
